It all ends tonight. The 2013 MAC Football season officially closes its doors, in 2014 of course, when the Ball State Cardinals take on the Arkansas State Red Wolves in the GoDaddy.com Bowl tonight on ESPN, at 9 p.m. EST. The Cardinals are favorites in this game, which is great news for MAC fans and Cardinals' fans alike, considering up to this point the MAC has gone 0-4 in bowl games this post-season. Oh, and Ball State has NEVER won a bowl game. EVER.
BSU comes into this game at 10-2, with its only losses coming in competitive games vs. North Texas and Northern Illinois. The Cardinals dealt with the possible loss of head coach Pete Lembo, but have came out through the bulk of the coaching change season with Lembo still in charge. Though, they did lose their offensive coordinator. Nonetheless, the Cardinals feature a potent offense led by senior quarterback Keith Wenning, and are anywhere from a 7-10 point favorite tonight vs. the Red Wolves.
We'll be watching the game, desperately rooting for Ball State to prevent a travesty of the worst kind—a winless postseason for the MAC. Naturally, we'll be brining you all the coverage, including quarterly updates and full-fledged recaps in our official GoDaddy.com Bowl StoryStream. We'll also be live-chatting during the game, right here. All are welcome, and you can comment without even signing up for a Hustle Belt account. All you have to do is sign in using any one of your social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, etc.) and join the discussion. You can even show up wearing Charlie Cardinal boxers if you want. We don't judge.
