Chase Brogna, Sophomore Guard, Withdraws From Ball State Due to Medical Reasons

A Ball State guard, who has been out for sometime due to a concussion, has left the program with plans to return next season.

Ball State sophomore guard Chase Brogna has withdrawn from school due to medical reasons according to a release from the Ball State athletic department. Brogna had been out of action since suffering a concision in December. The 5-11 guard and Houston native told the team he intends to rejoin them next season.

Head coach James Whitford said he fully supports Brogna's decision, in the release. "The doctors agree it is in his best interest, medically. We look forward to having him rejoin our team in the future."

Brogna appeared in just two games this season, for a total of four minutes, before suffering his concussion. In 2012-2013, as a true freshman, he appeared in 15 games, starting in one. He recorded career-high's in points (6) and minutes played (25) in the Cardinals 56-50 loss to EMU on Feb. 16, 2013.

Ball State is having a rough go of things this season, the first under Whitford. The Cardinals are currently 4-14 overall, and 1-6 in the MAC. Ball State tips off against NIU (8-11, 2-5 MAC) Saturday at 2 p.m. at home.
