2014 MAC Tournament Round 2 Open Thread: Welcome To Cleveland

ROUND 2: DING DING DING!

Eric P. Mull-US PRESSWIRE

Welcome to Cleveland. home of those lovable losers know as The Cleveland (Insert a Cleveland professional sports team) and the 2014 MAC Men's & Women's Basketball Tournaments. The tournaments officially begin their Cleveland stint today, with Round 2 of the women's action tipping off at 2 p.m., and the men's action tipping off at 6:30 p.m.

We'll be in Cleveland for the men's games, bringing you coverage from The Q, but for the women's games we'll be watching them, from the comfort of our couches. Per usual we're inviting you to stop on by and discuss the MACtion with us. With only one game going on at a time things should be a lot less hectic than normal. Remember, you can log in using a Twitter, Facebook or Google account, or sign up for a free Hustle Belt account using your email. We don't send you emails, so you don't have to worry about your inbox being spammed. But you do get to join the conversation here (and another perk: logged in users actually see a few less ads!).

Let's take a look at what's on deck for today:

As stated above Round 2 of the WBB Tournament tips off at noon with No. 5 Ball State looking to win its third game this season over No. 9 NIU. 30 minutes after the conclusion of the WBB Game 5, it's No. 6 Toledo vs. No. 7 WMU, where the Broncos are also looking to capture three in a row over their opponents. The All-MAC West second round have been broken down in detail for you here.

Remeber all the games today can be seen on TWC SportsChannel, WatchESPN or the MAC-Sports.com Digital Network.

At 6:30 p.m. Round 2 of the Men's Tournament tips off with No. 8 Miami taking on rival No. 5 Ohio for the third time this season. The odds are on the 'Cats side, having beaten the 'Hawks six straight times, including twice this season; but, in Cleveland, anything is possible.

After the MBB Game 5 concludes it's another MAC West showdown, this time on the men's side as No. 7 NIU takes on No. 6 EMU. These two teams always put up a defensively focused game, so expect a slow-moving physical contest in this one.

Once again, all of these games will be broadcast LIVE on TWC SportsChannel and can be streamed live via WatchESPN and the MAC Digital Network.

So pull up a seat, fire up the old laptop/smartphone/internet device thing with some form of keyboard and join the discussion. We'd love to hear what you have to say about today's MACtion.
