2014 CollegeInsider.com Tournament, Round 1
Ohio Bobcats (23-11, 11-7 MAC) vs. Cleveland State Vikings (12-11, 12-4 Horizon)
DAY & TIME: Wednesday, March 19, 7 p.m. ET
WHERE: Convocation Center, Athens, Ohio
TV: None
STREAMING: WatchCollegeInsider.com.
ODDS: Ohio is a 1 1/2 point favorite
HISTORY: This is the 12th time these Ohio schools have met on the hardwood, with Ohio holding a 9-2 lead in the series. They haven't met since the 1979-1980 season.
HOW'D THEY GET HERE: The Vikings finished second in the Horizon Leagues this year, with a conference mark of 12-4. The Vikings got hot down the stretch and have won 11 of their last 14, but fell in the semifinals of the 2014 Horizon League Tournament on March 8.
PLAYERS TO WATCH: 2nd-team All-Horizon League guard Bryn Forbes is a dynamic scorer. The sophomore leads the Vikings with an average of 15.4 points per game, and connects on 42 percent of his shots from behind the arc. He dropped 22 on Kentucky earlier this year and has the ability to take over in big games. Horizon League 6th Man of the Year Jon Harris is also someone to keep an eye on. He averages 10 and 6 off the bench for the Vikings.
WHATS NEXT: The CIT doesn't use a traditional bracket and instead waits until the first round games are over to determine the second round match ups by looking at several factors including win-loss record and geography.
