A year ago the Mid-American Conference rejoiced as we watched CMU offensive tackle Eric Fisher go No. 1 overall. This year, Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack could make it back-to-back No. 1 overall picks for the MAC.
2014 NFL Draft
2014 NFL Draft
The 2014 NFL Draft's first round begins tonight at 8 p.m. ET (watch it live on NFL Network or ESPN) and it's unlikely that Mack makes it out of the Top 3. Arguably the most complete defensive player in this year's Draft class, there's a handful of teams in the top 5 in desperate need for a player such as Mack.
But Mack isn't the only MAC prospect with first round potential. Former NIU safety Jimmie Ward is a Top 3 safety in this Draft class, and arguably the most complete coverage safety. He's projected to go anywhere from the mid first round to the mid second round, but lately it's been looking more like somewhere in between.
We've been hard at work prepping for tonight, bringing you scouting reports, outlook from NFL Draft experts, an honest look at where certain players will go, and much more. We'll also be bringing you live coverage of the night via our Twitter account (@HustleBelt), our Facebook page (give us a like)
We're also going to be live chatting during the whole event, starting NOW! Join the fun, hang out with us, and get ready to celebrate when #MACtion invades the NFL Draft once again.
