MAC NBA Summer League Day 7: Consolation Bracket Games to Watch

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

While the excitement of the earlier Summer League games was fantastic, the recent disappointing performances of former MAC players continued today.

In what is becoming a bit of a theme, former Miami RedHawk Michael Bramos picked up another Did Not Play in the Atlanta Hawks' win over the Portland Trail Blazers. This was Bramos' third straight DNP. The Hawks are now in the Summer League "Elite Eight" and play the Houston Rockets at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The games tomorrow feature both former Buffalo Bulls Javon McCrea and Mitchell Watt. While their teams are out of the running for the Summer League Championship, there is still a lot to play for especially from the point of view of these two. This is going to be the last game they will play in the Summer League, so this game is of utmost importance for both Watt and McCrea to leave a lasting impression on their coaching staffs. Here is the schedule:

Away Home Time Network
Mavericks Suns 4:00 NBATV
Bucks Warriors 4:30 ESPN3

With these being the last games for Watt and McCrea, it will be interesting to see how much playing time they get. You'd think that with not a whole lot to play for, these teams will be wanting to see what they have in their non-roster players so that they can take into consideration who would be a good fit in mini-camp. Let's hope this is true and that both McCrea and Watt earn extended minutes in their respective games today.
