For the past few weeks Toledo has been very quiet on the recruiting trail. The fact that they already had 19 commitments(now 20) could be a big factor in their silence. Well on Friday, athlete Khalil Robinson from North Carolina broke the silence and committed to the Rockets.
Robinson is listed as an athlete on both 247Sports and Rivals.com but projects to be a defensive back in college. Rivals.com lists him as a 2-star recruit and he is unranked by the other recruiting services. Although he has gone mostly under the radar by the recruiting services, he had a few offers to choose from before ultimately deciding on Toledo. Ball State was his only other FBS offer while VMI and Holy Cross offered as well.
At 6-foot-1 175 pounds, Khalil has the ideal size to play defensive back at the next level. Robinson has a knack for the ball and had some impressive interceptions his junior year. With good coaching, Robinson can develop into an impact player in the MAC. Robinson also has proven himself to be a versatile player while also returning kicks for his high schools team.
Toledo looks to be building another solid recruiting class this year and one of the best in the MAC. Check out Toledo's 20th commitment's highlight tape courtesy of YouTube below:
