2015 Hustle Belt MAC Pick'em - Week 8: Last weekend only edition

It's the last week where all the games are on one day, so let's celebrate with a six-shooter of MAC games.

Another week, and another dominating performance by the MAC West over the MAC East.  Seriously, other than Ball State getting pantsed by Georgia State, the West looked pretty damn good on Saturday.  Btw, the Cardinals join EMU on my hit list, as I'm now 0-2 when picking MAC West teams in the MAC Zombvivor Pool but 5-0 with East teams (with the most powerful teams remaining at my disposal, but it's probably too late now).

Anyways, your winner this week went perfect.  I mean perfect-perfect.  All 15 points?  Check.  High team (Toledo)?  Check.  Low team (either Akron or UMass)?  Check.  So, congrats to Sodors.

Full scoring breakdown here

I'm lazy this week and will update the cumulative totals later on and will have them ready for you next week.  ON TO WEEK 8, THE LAST OF THE WEEKEND EXCLUSIVE MACTION!

Saturday, October 24th

Bowling Green @ Kent State - I like the Golden Flashes' defense.  I mean, really like it.  That said, there is nothing like Bowling Green's offense.  The Falcons will roll into November when they have to face the vaunted MAC West to end their year.  That's when we'll know how good they truly are.

Miami @ Western Michigan - Did you know that every building on WMU's campus contains at least some sort of reddish-brown brick?  So after dismantling Ohio last week, the Broncos go for their 2nd straight Battle of the Bricks rivalry win after sweeping the series last year.  Yep, we're taking your rivalries now, MAC East.  Just accept it.

#19 Toledo @ UMass - Remember when we thought that UMass was poised to contend for the MAC East?  They just scored 10 points against Kent State.  Granted the rest of their schedule is very friendly, but after this loss, they're pretty much out of the East race and all but out of bowl contention.  Buffalo will see them out of the conference on Black Friday if you're marking your calendars now.

Central Michigan @ Ball State - CMU destroyed Buffalo on Saturday.  We already know what happened to Ball State.  I think the Cardinals respond at home, but they don't have enough to stop Cooper Rush, who is quickly becoming one of the better QBs in a conference with a lot of good ones.

Ohio @ Buffalo - Honestly, this was the hardest game for me to pick this week, and it wasn't that close.  Both teams got blown out by directional Michigan teams last week, but Ohio held WMU scoreless for the first 26.5 minutes before getting pounded in the 2nd half.  Buffalo never showed any life in their loss to the Chippewas.  Solich gets his team back on track and gets to bowl eligibility.

Eastern Michigan @ Northern Illinois - That weak MAC East portion of the schedule can't come fast enough for the Eagles.  Another year without a bowl, but with Miami and UMass due up after the WMU game (which they somehow can salvage the Michigan MAC with a miracle sweep of WMU and CMU), a 10-loss season can be avoided.

High Team: Toledo
Low Team: Eastern Michigan
