Matt Johnson, quarterback of the Bowling Green Falcons, is the nation's leading passer and has guided BGSU to a 5-2 record and 3-0 start in MAC play. In just the last two games, the Falcons have put up 121 points. The BGSU athletic department is beginning to really push Johnson as a Heisman candidate, even going to far as to create a #MattyJFor5K Twitter hashtag. And why not? While ESPN's Heisman Watch does not include a single Group of 5 player, Johnson's numbers rival (if not exceed) those of TCU's Trevone Boykin and Baylor's Seth Russell. You can't use the "level of competition" argument against him either, not with his numbers against three Power 5 teams plus an undefeated Memphis squad.
