/takes a big wiff
Ahhh....I love the smell of weeknight MACtion in the morning.
In all seriousness, last week was largely played out how we all saw it...........with the exception of Ohio vs Buffalo, when the Bulls absolutely curbstomped the Bobcats. (Can we all agree the 2nd half swoon is in effect yet again for Ohio?)
In that, we had a 5-way tie for 1st last week. With that, congratulations go out to: bgfather, TawJackson, yungwoodz, rob.kull, and bluebulls. They all hit the 6-spot, along with Toledo as the high team despite a poor opening from the Rockets.
On to this week!
Thursday, October 29th
Western Michigan @ Eastern Michigan - Did you know time! Did you know that WMU has never won back-to-back Michigan MAC Trophies in football before? Want to know something even more crazier? Eastern Michigan has done it.........TWICE! Yeah. With a win, WMU ends that, wins the 2nd Michigan MAC Trophy ever to be clinched before November 1st (CMU did it in 2009), and moves a three-peat next year away from tying up the all-time count with CMU and EMU at 4 apiece.
Buffalo @ Miami - Not sure what to make of the Bulls. One week, they look decent. The next? They look like garbage. I'm thinking they look good against Miami to get to .500 on the year, with bowl eligibility within grasp in November.
Saturday, October 31st (Happy Halloween!)
Central Michigan @ Akron - Akron had the week off to prepare for this game, but CMU is just really good. Take nothing away from barely beating Ball State (because I think the Cardinals laid an egg [pun not intended] against Georgia State the same way WMU laid an egg against Georgia Southern), this Chippewa team will contend for the MAC West with their weak MAC East schedule. That Toledo game looms large.
UMass @ Ball State - This should be fun. Both teams looked much better in Week 8 losses following ugly performances in Week 7. Froh has the weapons, but I think the Cardinals are a better overall team and get this done. Loser officially stays home come bowl season, the other still has to win out to even be considered.
High Team: Western Michigan
Low Team: Eastern Michigan
