Even if you aren't a fan of soccer or Major League Soccer, you still can appreciate outstanding athletic plays and accomplishments. On #DecisionDay where a number of playoff spots would be finally determined, former Akron Zip and current Portland Timber Darlington Nagbe stole the show.
Playing for his college coach Caleb Porter, Nagbe's first half brace led the Timbers to a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids and into the playoffs.
First, Nagbe lined up a free kick just perfectly in the fifth minute:

To be able to direct the ball just over the wall and have it dip under the crossbar is just next level stuff. But his next goal was even better:

I mean, it just really doesn't get better than that. Nagbe found a spot in the defense on his run and put the ball in the place where it was just out of reach of the Colorado keeper.
The Timbers start their playoff run against Sporting Kansas City in a one-game-take-all affair on Thursday, October 29th. The winner will face the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Western Conference Semifinals.
