Matt Falcon commits to Western Michigan University

The rich get richer. Just days after re-opening his recruiting period, Matt Falcon, a running back from Southfield, MI, has committed to the Western Michigan Broncos. It is a coup for the Broncos, as Falcon was garnering interest from top Power Five institutions. If the name Falcon is familiar, it's because Michigan had offered Falcon a "medical scholarship"," which would allow him to attend the university, but keep him off the team. He rejected the scholarship, and then released a now-telling letter regarding his decommitment. Falcon joins a rich backfield that currently includes Jamauri Bogan, Jarvion Franklin, and LeVante Bellamy. The position group is coached by Mike Hart, who was a famous running back at the University of Michigan. Falcon is a high three-star running back, according to 247Sports, and held 24 offers, with Akron, Northern Illinois, and Toledo the MAC schools included in the bunch. Up to this point, Western had not been in that group.
