MAC Pick'em - Bowl Season: It all comes down to this

New, 6 comments

After 13 grueling weeks and a championship game, it all comes down to who can pick best in the 7 MAC bowl games. Can you come out on top?

PLEASE READ: If you submitted your picks before 11:30 AM on Tuesday, please resubmit or email me (check the profile) with your picks and name.  I forgot to add the name box on the form and have no clue who submitted the first few form submissions.  Thank you

The finish line is close.  Thirteen weeks, a conference championship game, and now, just 7 bowl games to decide who wins and has bragging rights for a year and who has to stew (until the MAC basketball pick'em, which is also fun to play, but ran through another site).  For football, these 35 points can make or break our picks.

But first, one last check of the overall standings.  Got it?  Good

Important Announcement!

We are opening up the full bowl pick'em as a completely unrelated portion of the Pick'em this year.  It's ran through Yahoo! and you have to pick the winners of each of the 41 bowl games.  Winner gets bragging rights, and I dare you to try and top my picks (I'm feeling pretty confident).

Now, onto the MAC bowls!

2015 MAC Bowl Season

Ohio vs Appalachian State - Raycom Camellia Bowl - Look, Ohio has done some good things this year.  They beat NIU (albeit with the Huskies' fifth-string QB), they finished 2nd in the East, and they beat Marshall!  However, Appalachian State is on another level.  They win their first bowl game ever

Akron vs Utah State - Famous Idaho Potato Bowl - Congrats to Akron for getting this far.  However, I like Chuckie Keeton to win his final game while the Zips look towards next year as potential MAC East Champs.

#22 Temple vs Toledo - Boca Raton Bowl - No sponsors here!  Toledo losing Matt Campbell hurts.  I still like the Rockets to be able to run, but the Temple defense is just too good to let the Rockets run wild.  Hootie hoooooooooo

Boise State vs Northern Illinois - San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl - If Ryan Graham is healthy, this should be a good game.  If not, this will be ugly.  Either way, I like the Broncos to win and get to 10 wins yet again.

Georgia Southern vs Bowling Green - GoDaddy Bowl - Both teams are without their head coaches, so that sucks.  Georgia Southern would've been my choice, since their triple option is a nightmare.  However, after seeing what BG did to NIU in Detroit, there is no doubt in my mind that the Falcons can win this one.  They can air it out, grind it out, and shut down the run.

Middle Tennessee State vs Western Michigan - Popeye's Bahamas Bowl - The streak has to end eventually, right?  0-6?  NO MORE!  Bogan, Davis, Braverman, and the other Fleckettes get it done in Nassau just 8 months after I was there.  Bad timing on my part, my bad.

Central Michigan vs Minnesota - Quick Lane Bowl - I almost picked the Chips here.  They have a good squad, but I look at how Minnesota can get up for games, and I think they win this one for Kill to go out strong.
