It's a good day to watch some football! And by a good day, I mean a Tuesday! Hey, at least it's not Monday, right?
Anyway, the MAC will be looking to seek some revenge after losing their first effort at a bowl win at the Camellia Bowl, as Ohio choked away a 21-point lead to lose to App State.
They'll have two chances to make up for that today, as the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and the Marmot Boca Bowl (formerly the Boca Raton Bowl) will each have a MAC representative.
The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will feature a fascinating matchup between Akron (7-5, 5-3 MAC) and Utah State (6-6, 5-3) that pits one of the nation's top three defenses against one of the country's most explosive rushing offenses. Both Akron and Utah State threatened to make noise in their respective divisions, before ultimately taking some bad lumps. However, the personnel matchups on both sides of the ball will be fantastic to watch. Utah State is a 6.5 point favorite over the Zips.
Everyone loves steak with their mashed potatoes, and boy will the Marmot Boca Bowl have some beef. Toledo, which flirted with a New Year's Six bowl throughout the year, will face fellow NY6 suitor and former MAC member Temple on the campus of Florida Atlantic University. Both of these squads ad disappointments this season. Toledo was shredded by Northern Illinois and Western Michigan in games where they badly needed wins for a chance at the MAC Championship to cement their NY6 hopes. Temple, meanwhile, had to rally against UMass, lost on a controversial decision to Notre Dame, and them got lambasted by Houston in the American Championship game to be eliminated from NY6 contention. Toledo looks to get their national ranking back against #24 Temple. The Owls are favored by 2.5 points.
Here is the schedule for the games:

Here are the Pick 'Em numbers, courtesy of our amateur prognosticators:
The MAC representatives are going to have to prove their worth. According to the numbers, Utah State will win the Potato Bowl, with 73% of the vote, while Temple will win the Boca Bowl, with 52% of the vote.
Remember: drink in the spirit of #MACtion, and don't be that guy in the comments section.
