MAC Tournament semi-finals open chat: #3MU-Toledo, Akron-Buffalo

Time to see what #3MU can do

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

We've reached the final four of the MAC Tournament, and tonight's platter of games are extra-appetizing. Central Michigan, or #3MU as we so lovingly call them, faces their first opponent of the tournament after receiving a double-bye as the number one seed. The Chips face fourth seeded Toledo, who took out Eastern Michigan last night. #3MU (it's so catchy) swept the Rockets during the regular season, so surely Juice Brown and company are out for revenge.

The other game is a pretty big surprise - the upstart Akron Zips take on the second seeded Buffalo Bulls in the night cap. The Zips have won three games in four days and outlasted Kent State last night, only winning by two after actually making their free throws down the stretch. Buffalo and Akron each defended their home court against each other during the regular season, and both games were fairly close.

Vital information for the games tonight:

  • 1 Central Michigan vs. 4 Toledo - 6:30 on TWC Sports and ESPN3
  • 6 Akron vs. 2 Buffalo - 9:00 on TWC Sports and ESPN3
Let's make a bunch of technical jokes about Bobby Hurley and we'll really get this thing going. Enjoy the games tonight!
