Dino Babers and the Falcon coaching staff picked up their fifth verbal commitment of the 2016 cycle on Saturday when under-the-radar defensive end Dirion Hutchins ended his recruitment during an unofficial visit to the Bowling Green campus.

"Bowling Green was just a great place. Awesome environment and great coaches. I could really see myself being a Falcon. What confirmed it for me was talking to the head coach Dino Babers. He made me feel wanted there. Also expressed that his team was like family and he would do anything for his family. After talking to him I just knew I wanted to play for him so I told him I wanted to commit there. He was pumped. The whole staff was fired up." Hutchins stated to Hustle Belt.

After chatting it up with his future head coach the 6'2 225 pound St. Charles, Missouri native had a few moments to break bread with his soon-to-be position coach Tom Kaufman.

"I went in Coach Kaufman's office and he explained that basically they would use me as a defensive end. I'll be on the outside. They will run a ton of stunts to get me back to the quarterback. He also told me nine NFL teams run the same defense."

Joining fellow defensive end Sharif Saleem (Cleveland/Central Catholic), wide out Kyree Calli (Harrisburg,PA/Bishop McDevitt), running back Terence Stephens (Imprerial,PA/West Allegheny), and quarterback Elijah Cunningham in the class, Hutchins picked Bowling Green over scholarship offers from programs such as Ball State, Austin Peay, Northern Iowa, and Southern Illinois.

Playing for Francis Howell last season, Hutchins helped lead the 11-1 Vikings deep into the state playoffs.
