Just a few days removed from adding a commitment from Missouri defensive end Dirion Hutchins, Dino Babers and the Bowling Green coaching staff have secured a pledge from another class of 2016 Show-Me-State standout who visited over the weekend.
This morning defensive back Jerry McBride of Hannibal Senior High School in Hannibal, Missouri became the sixth and latest prospect to join the flock of future Falcons.
"Bowling Green just felt right to me during my visit. The coaching staff made me feel like family. I talked with my family and took some time to think about it and it felt like it was the place for me. They play some great competition." The 6'0 185 pound McBride stated to Hustle Belt soon after announcing his commitment via his Twitter page.
McBride, who chose Bowling Green over chances to play for Ohio, North Dakota, and Western Illinois has lined up mostly at cornerback on the high school level, but that will soon change.
"They (Bowling Green) see me as a safety in the 4-3 defense they play. I could also play some corner." He said.
A mixture of speed, and toughness, McBride has the skill set Babers wants in his defensive backs. With a secondary littered with upperclassmen, the underrated safety could find himself in the mix for playing time rather early during his time with the Falcons.
