2016 NIU football recruiting: DB Daniel Isom commits to Huskies

+

Northern Illinois landed a commitment from defensive back Daniel Isom.

The 5-foot-10 161 pound cornerback chose the Huskies over reported offers from Murray State, SE Missouri State, and Southern Illinois.

Shortly after his commitment, Hustle Belt caught up with Isom to find out why he chose the Huskies.

"It was just the family feel I got from the coaching staff and their motto the hard way is why they are such a winning team."

Isom plans to "come in and work hard to be the best I can be and get a MAC Championship and a bowl win."

The St. Louis native is rated a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com and a top ten player in the state of Missouri.

He currently plays both defensive back and wide receiver for University HS, however projects to play defensive back at the next level. Isom seems pretty comfortable in man to man coverage and is also a solid punt/kick returner which will give the Huskies added depth in the return game.
