2016 Ohio Football Recruiting: RB Dontez Rash commits to Bobcats
The Bobcats landed a solid athlete in RB Dontez Rash on Saturday afternoon. Rash announced his decision on his Twitter page and chose the Bobacts over reported offers from Ball State and Bowling Green.
Rash is currently rated a 2-star recruit by Rivals.com and is an explosive running back who seems to have innate play-making abilities.
The 5-foot-8 175 pound running back hails from Cleveland, Ohio and currently attends Benedictine High School. Shortly after his commitment, we found out why Rash chose the Bobcats over his two other MAC offers.
"I chose it because I think it's right where I fit in position wise! It's also beautiful in Athens. And it being Ohio University, a bunch of guys are already from the area so chemistry is already set. I also love the tradition. They put up a fight against any opponent!"
On top of that, Rash also has some goals he would like to accomplish during his time as a Bobcat.
"I want to help to bring much more success to the program, be one of the best backs ever to step foot into OU, and lastly to make everyone proud."
Despite being a little undersized, Rash does not shy away from contact and actually seems to embrace it while using a combination of speed and power that gives opposing defenses fits.
