Central Michigan continues to attract the eyes of Power Five opponents, this time adding the Northwestern Wildcats to their future schedule.
CMU and Northwestern have played each other once: a 25-20 win for the Wildcats in Evanston in 2010, where Northwestern had to fend off a furious 12-point Chippewa rally in the fourth quarter to seal victory.
The game is scheduled for Sept. 12, 2020 in Evanston, per a press release from CMU Athletics. The Chippewas will take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers the following week on Sept. 19, 2020 in Lincoln.
The news comes on the heels of the Kentucky Wildcats being added to the 2018 schedule back in September. A subsequent move was announced for the Oklahoma State return date, moving from 2018 to 2022.
The Chippewas now have complete schedules for the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons. The 2020 and 2021 schedules have two remaining slots for out-of-conference games. The 2022 schedule has one remaining slot and the 2023 schedule has three remaining slots.
