Two thumps up from the Hustle Belt staff, Akron. The 1976 Zips squad competed on the Division II level and finished the regular season with a 8-3 record. Akron knocked off UNLV and Northern Michigan in tournament play before falling to Montana State in the Pioneer Bowl, the Division II championship game. The ‘76 squad is Akron’s only 10-win team in school history.
The Zips and RedHawks will kickoff from InfoCision Stadium at 12pm ET on Saturday.
