MAC Men’s Basketball Live Thread: November 12

A continuation of opening day

NCAA Basketball: MAC Conference Tournament-Akron vs Buffalo Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

The four MAC teams that didn’t play last night start their seasons off this Saturday.

Ohio vs. Southern

The first game of the day has a 2pm tip-off. Southern travels to Athens to take on the Bobcats.

ESPN 3 will handle the broadcast.

Kent State vs. Cleveland State

The game will be in Youngstown, part of the Northeast Ohio Coaches vs. Cancer® Basketball Doubleheader. Tip-off is 5 pm.

Last year, Kent State edged the Vikings, 66-62. This game looks to be a similar defensive battle. The Flashes only return 5 players that have seen action, so this is a must watch if you are interested in what kind of season KSU is going to have.

You can watch the game on ESPN 3 or listen to it on the Kent State radio network via Kent State’s website.

Toledo @ Saint Joseph’s

Toledo travels to the city of brotherly love to take on the Hawks. Tip off is at 7 pm.

No one really knows what the Rockets are going to look like with Nathan Boothe. Saint Joe’s was a tournament team last year, so this will be a good litmus test.

The Toledo website will have a radio broadcast of the game.

Akron @ Youngstown State

In the other Northeast Ohio Coaches vs. Cancer® Basketball Doubleheader game, Akron takes on the Penguins. Tip-off should be around 7:45 PM.

A lot of publications, including Hustlebelt.com, have the Zips winning the MAC.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN 3, or you can listen to it on NewsRadio 570 WKBN.

An exiting day of basketball that includes two teams that are sure to compete for the East title. I am sure there will be much to discuss.
