It was a wild week in college football. So many upsets, so much chaos. Luckily, we mostly avoided it in the MAC, with the only real upset occurring when Akron continued their slide towards bowl ineligibility. And with that, your winner last week was Rocket A.
So I would update the cumulative totals, but this week is kinda hectic. In addition to the big news that Gameday is headed to Kalamazoo, my workload at my day job is intense, so I’ll get to that next week. I’m sure you’ll understand.
ON TO THIS WEEK!
Kent State @ Bowling Green (ESPNU) - I get that Bowling Green looked not bad against Akron last week, but the Zips have been in a downward spiral for weeks now. The Flashes looked decent against Western Michigan, and have been looking better and better with Holley at QB. I’ll take them against a much easier foe.
Ohio @ Central Michigan (ESPN2) - The Bobcats clinch the East against a Chippewa team that hasn’t been the same since the Virginia game. Something died in them that day, and I still think they don’t get bowl eligible.
Ball State @ Toledo (ESPN2) - The Rockets roll against an iffy Cardinal team. However, should they lose, it opens the door for Western Michigan to clinch the West later in the week.
Northern Illinois @ Eastern Michigan (ESPNU) - I want to go to this game so bad, but I doubt I will. It’ll be a great game, and the Huskies have been looking much better than their 1-7 start suggested. That said, EMU had a bye last week to prepare, and I like their defense to step up at home and get the W.
Buffalo @ Western Michigan (ESPNU) - College Gameday? Oh hell yes. Broncos roll as Tyree Jackson continues to be the raw quarterback of the future. I.e. he turns the ball over a few times
