Eastern Michigan Downs Omaha - In Pictures

James Thompson IV gets a double-double this afternoon against Omaha.
Kenneth Bailey

Today was my first Eastern Michigan basketball game as many of the games have been either away or on work days. It was cool to see the team in action and finally put a face to some of the names I’ve been reading about.

One of the names I didn’t need to put a face to was James Thompson IV, he was Eastern Michigan’s leading scorer with 21 points. He also got 11 total rebounds to complete the double-double. Omaha’s leading scorer was Tre’Shawn Thurman with 20 points. He also got 10 rebounds to also tack on a double-double.

After a slow start, Eastern Michigan would take the lead at 12:39 in the first half and not look back. They ended up shooting 55.7% in field goal percentage. They were an impressive 46.2% from three point land. At 80%, they weren’t too shabby from the charity stripe. Omaha was 50% with field goals, 18.8% from three point land and 92.3% from the charity stripe. Eastern Michigan would end up winning 94-77.

Eastern Michigan will take the trek down I-94 to face the Detroit-Mercy Titans at Calihan Hall in Detroit. Tip-off will be at 7:00P.M.
