2016 MAC Pick’em - Week 11

Three weeks left in the regular season, and it’s anyone’s race. Tough weeks lie ahead, so do you have what it takes to become this year’s MACstradamus?

We’re hitting the homestretch. Just three weeks left, then the MAC Championship and bowl season, so it’s anyone’s race (if you’re on the cumulative total spreadsheet). Last week, we responded as a group and actually put up points. Four of us put up perfect weeks, so congrats to MYSELF, ColinApocalypse, Archie, and Huron Boy for winning. Yes, the caps for myself was necessary.

Full breakdown here

And with the cumulative totals updated, we have a three-way tie for first! The aforementioned Colin sits just a point behind the leaders, so hold onto your butts as we take the final turns.

On to this week! And because I can’t trust you folks with WMU as a Game of the Week choice, they won’t be included.

#14 Western Michigan @ Kent State (Tues., ESPN2) - The last true road game of the year provides a twist for the Broncos, as Nick Holley has added a nice dimension to the Golden Flashes’ attack. That said, this is WMU we’re talking about, a team that is 5-0 against the spread all season on the road. I’ll take them in their comfort zone.

Eastern Michigan @ Ball State (Tues., CBSSN) - Such a great game. The Eagles can clinch a bowl berth with a win in any one of their last three games. It starts with a Ball State team that can’t seem to find consistency on defense, and relies heavily on the run on offense. I like the Eagles to win, and knock Ball State all but out of bowl contention.

Bowling Green @ Akron (Wed., ESPNU) - The Zips can’t possibly lose to BGSU, right? Right? Anyone?

Toledo vs Northern Illinois (Wed., ESPN2) - This game will be played at Guaranteed Rate Field, or the laughable name formerly known as "The Cell". It was honestly my most difficult pick. I like what the Huskies have been doing lately, and Toledo has shown some chinks in the armor. NIU has beaten the Rockets for six straight years, and seven of the last eight. Still, I think Toledo finally gets over that hump and picks up the W.

Miami @ Buffalo (Sat., ESPN3) - I like Miami, but watch out for Buffalo at home, in November. They always seem to play better in their environment (home and cold), and I wouldn’t put it past them to knock the RedHawks back into 5-7 land.
