For the Miami RedHawks, it certainly didn’t seem like a season that would be bowl worthy after starting 0-6. Leave it to Chuck Martin and the RedHawks to have a flair for the dramatic. A winless first six gave way to an undefeated final six and Miami has landed in their first bowl since the 2011 GoDaddy Bowl.
Their opponent? Mississippi State, who earned their bowl invite despite a 5-7 record, based on their APR. I guess the student in student-athlete finally counts for something. What a country!
On paper, this is a game befitting the 12.5 point line slanting to Mississippi State, but as we’ve seen time and time again (though not at all this MAC bowl season), the games aren’t played on paper. How fitting it would be for the MAC to win their first bowl against an SEC opponent.
