Kent State's Xavier Pollard has a fractured foot

This could be a devastating loss for the Flashes in the long run.

Joshua Dahl-USA TODAY Sports

Per Allen Moff of the Record Courier, Kent State's senior guard Xavier Pollard suffered a fractured foot in the first half of the Flashes' loss at Ohio on Friday. There is no set timetable for his return, if he doesn't end up being done for the season.

The Maine transfer has been one of the best players in the league since the start of MAC play, scoring 14.4 points per game since the win at Western Michigan to open league play. The loss hurts even more given the fact that one of the top freshman in the MAC Jaylin Walker also suffered a foot injury last week. That leaves Kellon Thomas and Galal Cancer with a heavy workload in the back court for now.

Both Walker and Pollard will be out for the Flashes' next game, which is at Central Michigan. Kent State is tied with rival Akron for the MAC East and overall MAC lead at 6-2 in league play.
