CMU's Austin Stewart to attempt transition from basketball to football


In what is stunning news, Austin Stewart will forgo his basketball career and attempt to find a spot on the CMU football team. Coach John Bonamego has known about Stewart's plans, and confirmed Stewart's intentions today. Stewart, who stands at 6'6", 215 lbs., played wide receiver at Normal West Community HS in Illinois. Stewart started practicing with the team today, but did take passes from Dan LeFevour on CMU's pro day. It is yet to be determined if Stewart will secure a spot. The last MAC player to attempt the basketball to football transition was Quentin Rollins at Miami. He is currently with the Green Bay Packers.
