Former CMU Pledge Brian Roberts has four Programs Sticking out

Former Central Michigan commit, Brian Roberts, is back on the recruiting market. The Trinity Christian High School standout has four schools sticking out, including a fellow MAC program.

One of Toledo’s top targets within the 2017 recruiting class is Jacksonville (Fla.) OLB Brian Roberts. On May 4th, he ended his recruitment by committing to Central Michigan. However, after the constant pursuit from other programs, new offers and interest in other schools. Roberts decided to decommit from the Chippewa’s on July 1st.

The Trinity Christian High School standout made the decision to decommit because he wanted too enjoy the process. He recently talked to the Central Michigan coaching staff and they fully understood why he decommitted.

“I just didn’t want to miss out on any opportunities, I only get one chance at this, Roberts said about his decommitment. “Coach Guidugli and I talk everyday or so. They understood why I decommitted and I’m real cool with Coach Guidugli, we have been close ever since they offered.”

Now that Roberts is back on the recruiting market, he plans to look at a ton of schools and explore all of his options. As of right now, Florida International, Tulane, Middle Tennessee State and Toledo are the four schools who are standing out right now.

“Mainly FIU, Tulane, Middle Tennessee State and Toledo are currently sticking out. They have been showing the most interest and I’m interested in those programs as well.”

The Rockets may not be the public leader, but many experts, including me believe that Toledo has the slight edge for Roberts right now. Even though, Roberts won’t name a leader, he still really likes Toledo.

“I like Toledo and think they have something special going on up there. Toledo is definitely in my top five and my relationship with the coaches is starting to grow. I plan to be close with the coaching staff once my official visit comes.”

Roberts plans to enroll early to whatever program he chooses. That means he won’t be staying uncommitted for too long as he will have to make a commitment before January.

“I plan to announce my commitment somewhat soon, I plan to enroll early and to shut down my recruitment early.”
