Ball State has been loading up on defensive backs thus far in the 2017 recruiting class. By our count, this is the sixth defensive back to join this class.

Their most recent commitment came from 2-star defensive back Bryce Cosby.

Cosby chose the Cardinals over reported offers from Eastern Kentucky, Army, and Georgia State.

"The pedigree of the coaching staff was a big factor in my decision. My ultimate goal is to go to the NFL one day and win as many games at Ball State during my career as possible. With that being said, to know that my DB coach won a national championship at LSU under Les Miles made it an easy decision. Along with my Head Coach coming from the New Orleans Saints who is usually a winning organization."

Cosby also chose Ball State for their strong program in his intended major, citing David Letterman’s recent contributions to the Ball State Communications program.

He currently attends Dupont Manual located in Louisville, Kentucky. 247Sports rates him as a top 20 recruit in the state of Kentucky.

As a junior, he tallied 8 interceptions, returning 3 for touchdowns as well as 63 combined tackles.
