Last year at this time, Akron had very few known verbal commitments. It’s entirely possible that they had quite a few recruits committed that the general public was not aware of, however they seemed to be significantly behind in the recruiting arms race. That is not the case this year as the Zips just landed their ninth commitment.
Blessed and honored to say that I will be committing to The University of Akron! #ZipEmUp #KeepTheFamilyClose pic.twitter.com/6uvVxXUd96

Wooldridge currently plays for St. Vincent-St. Mary’s in Akron so he’ll have the opportunity to play in front of his hometown. He currently plays basketball as well as runs track at SVSM.
It looks like Akron is Wooldridge’s only reported FBS offer at this time. On the gridiron, he plays both wide receiver and defensive back but it looks like he will play defensive back in college.
For what it’s worth, .he beginning of his Hudl highlights are mostly him lined up at receiver. However later on more defensive highlights are shown in case you’re trying to get a taste of his abilities on defense.
