Earlier Thursday afternoon, Central Michigan Athletics confirmed via press release that CMU football has two new dates for future schedules.

The Chippewas will travel to Lexington, Kentucky as part of a one-game contract on Sept. 1, 2018 to face the Wildcats.

To facilitate the change in schedule, the third leg of the three-game contract with Oklahoma State has been moved to Sept. 3, 2022. That game will be played in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The move solidifies the Chippewas’ travel plans over the next three seasons and also fills in a vacany for 2022, leaving one space open in that non-conference slate.

The schedules are as follows:

2017:

  • Aug. 31: v. Rhode Island
  • Sept. 9: @ Kansas
  • Sept. 16: @ Syracuse
  • Sept. 30: @ Boston College

2018:

  • Sept. 1: @ Kentucky
  • Sept. 8: v. Kansas
  • Sept. 15: @ Michigan State
  • Sept. 22: v. Maine

2019:

  • Aug. 29: v. UAlbany
  • Sept. 7: @ Wisconsin
  • Sept. 14: v. South Florida
  • Sept. 22: @ Florida Atlantic
