MAC Gems: The All Helmet Edition

Time to blow the paycheck.

If you buy something from an SB Nation link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement.

Football is back and so is MAC Gems. You need something in your office that lets everybody know that your school is the best, and their school is garbage. The more obnoxious, the better, and I’m here to help. Get to spending, MAC fans! Your September 9th MAC Gems.

Full Size Replica Western Michigan Helmet

It’s as real as you’re gonna get without ripping it from P.J. Fleck’s cold, dead hand. This is the perfect addition to your office. I have a Ball State helmet in mine, you should have a Western Michigan helmet in yours. Normally something like this might not make it into MAC Gems, but the price is so sweet. Buy it now for $55, although if you act now it looks like you might be able to get it for even cheaper than that.

Game Used Kent State Helmet

It’s exactly what it sounds like. $240 after shipping, which actually isn’t too bad, and straight from the estate of a former equipment manager. If you find yourself on Whaley Street in Columbia, South Carolina, you can snag this and save yourself the $15 in postage.

Authentic Gameday Ohio Bobcats Helmet

Seller states that, “ONLY the upper internal padding is game-used/reconditioned... everything else is BRAND NEW.” There was once three for sale, seller is done to their final helmet. For a true Ohio Bobcats fan, $183 after shipping isn’t too bad.

Eric Page Signed Full Size Toledo Helmet

Sweet Toledo Rockets memorabilia from a school legend. The NFL hasn’t panned out for Page, but his name is all over the Toledo record books. Perhaps most impressive is that he was named All-MAC First Team at three different positions in 2011, wide receiver, punt returner, and kick returner. Pick up this beaut for 250 bucks, all in.

Dan LeFevour, JJ Watt Signed Mini Helmet

Normally I wouldn’t include a mini helmet in MAC Gems. They just don’t do much for me. But this one you have to see. It’s a Central Michigan Chippewas mini helmet signed by legendary quarterback Dan LeFevour, and perhaps the most feared defensive player in today’s NFL, JJ Watt. Chips fans are already very familiar with LeFevour, but plenty of people don’t know that Watt’s journey started at Central Michigan. Watt played 14 games as a Chip, was asked to move to offensive tackle, and decided he’d rather walk on at Wisconsin. I’d say things worked out. $240 after shipping and this can be yours, but the seller will hear offers, so get to lowballing.

Templar Knight Great Helm Helmet by Marto of Toledo

This has nothing to do with the Mid-American Conference, but is a good example of some of the odd stuff I come across when working on MAC Gems. I thought you should see it because it’s awesome, and if you have $1300 lying around you should buy it.
