Ball State won 8 out of the last 10 games before MAC play began, and then lost their two opening MAC games in relatively close fashion. Miami won three in a row, including their MAC opener, before getting beat by Toledo.
Miami is lead by Michael Weathers, almost certainly MAC freshman of the year. He is averaging 17.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.3 assists. Logan Mclane is the only other Redhawk scoring in double digits, but that is partly because they use a lot of their players.
The Cardinals are the same in that regard, with 9 players getting 10 minutes or more per contest. Taylor Persons, the 6’3 guard from Kokomo, is leading the Cardinals with 15.4 points per game and 5.1 assists. Franko House is averaging 11.8 points, and 6.4 rebounds.
This should be a competitive game, where anyone could step up to be the hero.
