Morris, who signed with Michigan in 2013, was the third-string quarterback this season behind Wilson Speight and Tom O’Korn. During his three seasons at Michigan, Morris was 47-92 passing for 434 yards and five interceptions.
Per his 247Sports profile, Morris, a former four-star prospect, had offers from MAC schools Bowling Green, CMU and Toledo coming out of Michigan high school powerhouse Warren De La Salle. Morris also held offers from Power Five schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Michigan State and Syracuse.
Morris’ high school coach Paul Verksta is a staffer with CMU football. At Warren De La Salle, Morris threw for 3,572 yards and 39 touchdowns in three varsity seasons. Morris missed most of his senior campaign due to contracting mono.
Morris is expected to battle with Lansing Catholic HS product Tony Poljan, who redshirted as a freshman, and Tommy Lazzaro, a JUCO transfer that played with Dodge City CC, for the starting role.
