Kent State is 8-5 and coming off a win against Texas. They face a 9-4 Ball State team that has won 5 in a row and 8 out of 10.

Ball State has 8 guys that average over 7.7 points a game, making them one of the deepest teams in the MAC. They are led by Tayler Persons, who is averaging 14.9 points and 5 assists a game. Franko House is a presence all over the court, scoring 11.5 points and 6.2 rebounds. He also does all the little things that coaches love to see.

Kent State is also deep, just not in scoring. Only 4 guys average over 5 points a game. Jimmy Hall is a huge inside presence, scoring 17.7 points and grabbing 11.2 rebounds per game. Stopping him will be key for the Cardinals, but that’s something easier said than done.

This is an important game to watch, because both teams are hovering in the good to really good range this season. Kent is scoring 10 points more per contest than their opponents, and grabbing 10 more rebounds. Ball State isn’t far behind. It’s way to early for any game to be make or break, but this should give us a good indication on how good these two teams are.
