Jonathan Williams hit a three to give Toledo a 7-4 lead, and the Rockets never looked back. They pushed the lead to 42-28 at the half.

Miami showed a fleck of light, at about the 8 minute mark. Marcus Weathers made a couple of shots to close within 14, but the Rockets had an answer, and it never became a game.

The Rockets won 97-76.

Toledo hit 56% of their shots, and went 11-24 from three point land. When they do that, they are going to be a tough team to beat for anyone in the MAC.

The Rockets won the rebounding battle by 10, 34-24.

Jonathan Williams led the Rockets with 25 on 7-11 shooting. Jaeland Sanford put in 22 with 8-13 shooting. Nate Navigato, the 6’8 sophomore from Geneva Illinois, added 17 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists off the bench. Steve Taylor Jr. added 12 points and 12 boards.

Logan McLane scored 25 and grabbed 8 rebounds in the losing effort. Rod Mills Jr. added 20, and the two combined for 17-25 from the floor.

Miami dropped to 8-7 and travel to Muncie to take on 9-6 Ball State on Tuesday.

Toledo won it’s 5th straight, and 6 out of 7 to move to 9-6 on the year. They travel to Kalamazoo and take on 4-10 Western Michigan on Tuesday.
