Usually, the Mid-American Conference is known more for mid-week epic games than Saturday ones, but the situation we find ourselves in today is setting up to be a big one for fans of MACtion. For the Toledo Rockets, Saturday’s contest is the next step towards their coronation for a MAC West championship and with it a trip to Detroit. For the Eastern Michigan Eagles, Saturday is a chance to prove that as eyeballs and attention in MAC country focuses on Toledo and Ohio, there’s a program in Ypsilanti that warrants some consideration for title talk.

Toledo (3-1) is off a bye week following a humbling at the hands of the Miami-Florida Hurricanes. Eastern (2-2) comes in after two straight losses, one to the Ohio University Bobcats and one last week to the Kentucky Wildcats, both of which were one possession affairs that could have easily resulted in an Eagles victory.

It’s a tall order to go into the Glass Bowl and walk out with a win any year, but even more so this year with Toledo’s high powered offense led by Logan Woodside. EMU’s defense is far from MAC-level though, and this should be an outstanding affair to tune into to start your Saturday slate.
