The Bowling Green Falcons played host to the South Dakota Coyotes.

The Falcons led for most of the first half and the first 5 minutes of the second half until a Triston Simpson trey tied it up, 43-43.

Then the two teams battled until a Tyler Hagedorn three put South Dakota up, 59-57. The Coyotes caught fire after that, and took a 70-61 lead on Matt Mooney jumper. The Falcons made a few runs, but never could close the gap all the way before the Coyotes finished them off, 88-79.

The Falcons struggled to shoot, only hitting 34% from the floor. All the other stats were relatively even, with Bowling Green holding a 47-45 rebounding edge. They turned it over 12 compared to 10 for South Dakota.

The Coyotes Matt Mooney led all scorers with 26, while Dylan Frye led the Falcons with 23. Freshman Derek Koch had 15 points, 14 rebounds, and a couple of blocks for Bowling Green.

The Falcons fall to 1-1 and host Florida Gulf Coast on the 18th.
