The Mid-American Conference is known for its weeknight showdowns, but let’s be honest. More often than not it isn’t MUST SEE TV. It’s a rarity when there’s significant things on the line for fans of MACtion to enjoy. But such is the case on Tuesday when the Akron Zips and the Ohio University Bobcats matchup on ESPN2 at 7PM.
Both squads are still alive for the MAC East, though Ohio can clinch with a win and Akron will need some additional things to happen for their trip to Detroit to become a reality. But let’s just celebrate that the penultimate game for these squads still has something to play for. Which is awesome!
For Ohio, there’s reason to wonder if there will be a letdown after last week’s upset of Toledo. For Akron, there’s reason to wonder who will start at QB since the Zips camp has been mum on the prospect of who will be taking the snaps. Without Thomas Woodson, this game loses a little luster and Akron loses a lot of upset potential, but Kato Nelson proved last week that he’s more than capable of leading the Zips to a W. Must see tv for your Tuesday night, indeed.
