The women’s AP poll came out today and I fully expected the Buffalo Bulls to at least get votes, if not be ranked outright. The Bulls are 7-1 and the RPI computer has them ranked in the top 20. Their only loss was a cross country trip against Arizona State, which received 10 votes. Sadly, no one gave them a vote.
However, one pollster noticed that Ball State is sitting undefeated. The Cardinals pummeling of Oakland City 126-55 probably had something to do with that.
Undefeated on the season, the Cardinals are led by Moriah Monaco, who is averaging 17 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest. 5 players are averaging at least 10 points a game, including Carmen Grande, who already has accumulated 86 assists in just 9 games.
As some of you may remember, the Ball State men got a vote in the preseason poll, only to have the voter say, “my bad, meant to click Baylor.” This time, there are plenty of reasons to believe the vote was intentional.
