The Pro Football Hall of Fame is where every footballer hopes to be someday. Now, some players from MAC schools will get the opportunity to see it up close and person as the Mid-American Conference has announced it will move its Media Day festivities to Canton, Ohio.

The news was first reported by Sporting News and later confirmed on the MAC’s official Twitter page.

Per Sporting News, it’s likely MAC Media Days will be extended by a full day, with events expected to take place July 25 and 26. The timing is also precipitous; former Akron Zip Jason Taylor is set to be inducted in a ceremony in August.

The move for this season is due to expected construction at Ford Field that should help the facility provide more ways to help fan engagement, such as new television screens, enhanced Wi-Fi and more fan zones and lounges.

The move to the Pro Football Hall of Fame should be a convenient trip for at least half the schools and for conference officials. Canton is located about 20 minutes south of Akron, Ohio. The MAC’s offices are located in nearby Cleveland.

Full details about the move and events to be held are expected to be released at a later date.
