Bill Belichick Knows the Awesomeness of #MACtion

Apparently, he was in Athens to work out Tarell Basham

According to this tweet by Jason Arkley of the Athens Messenger, the evil genius was in Athens to work out edge rusher Tarell Basham.

It should not come as a surprise to anyone that Bill Belichick understands that just because a player comes from the MAC, it doesn’t mean they can’t contribute in the NFL.

He plucked a little known quarterback out of Kent State, Julian Edelman, and turned him into a receiver/return man who’s ridiculous 4th quarter catch in the Super Bowl landed him on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

However, what is curious to me is that he would travel to Athens and work the guy out himself. He knows that it will make the rounds, and a potential diamond in the rough is now out in the wide open.

We had Basham going in the third round in our MAC Mock Draft. Maybe the sick evil genius doesn’t care that anyone knows who he likes, and is just evaluating talent. Maybe he is playing mind games with other GMs and us all. We’ll find out by April 29th.
