According to this report by Steve Jones with the Courier-Journal, the backup quarterback of the Louisville Cardinals is seeking to transfer. Kyle Bolin was in a battle a few years back with Lamar Jackson for the starting job, and even started half a dozen games over his career. To those that haven’t been following major college football, Jackson went nuts, won the Heisman, and now it’s time for Bolin to move on.
A confident Bolin believes he can contribute and be one of the better quarterbacks in the country. Considering how close the race was two years ago, and the season Jackson had last year, it’s understandable why.
There is already an offer from the Northern Illinois Huskies, and Bolin plans on visiting. Western Michigan and Texas have also reached out, per the article.
This could be huge for either team out of the MAC. The Huskies are coming off a disappointing season and some think they are just a QB away. The Broncos are harder to figure out, as they lost their coach, the best player in the MAC, and their senior leader at QB.
This is a situation that we at the Hustle Belt will be keeping a keen eye on.
