Damon Hazelton Jr., who announced his intention to transfer back in March, has selected his destination: Blacksburg, Virginia.
Hazelton, a Baltimore, Maryland native, will join the Virginia Tech Hokies right away and sit out a year. He will have three years of eligibility starting in 2018. 247Sports first reported the move.
Hazleton was Ball State’s second-leading receiver last season in Mike Neu’s first year as head coach, with 51 receptions for 505 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games for the Cardinal and White, starting 7 games.
Hazleton, who stands at six-foot-two and 209 lbs., chose Ball State over an offer from Florida Atlantic during his recruiting cycle.
The Cards finished 4-12 in 2016 and had the lowest average home attendance in the FBS.
