The Toledo Rockets today announced via multiple outlets that they would be making the short trip to East Lansing to take on the Michigan State Spartans on September 19, 2020.

According to the release from the Rockets website, it would be the third time the teams have played, and the first since 1925.
Another interesting tidbit from the site is that the Rockets are 6-10 against the Big Ten since it’s first win against Purdue in 1992.
Nothing helps the national perception more than knocking off a highly regarded power 5 team. Even when Michigan State is at their best, they are vulnerable to an upset because they don’t overwhelm a team with pure athleticism.
Obviously the 2020 season is a long time away, and a lot can happen. Based on recent trends, I would expect that both teams will be contenders for their conference titles, and this should be an exciting match-up that may even garner some national attention.
