The Michigan State Spartans announced the completion of their future football schedules up to the 2020 season earlier Wednesday morning, and it has two familiar names on it.
The Central Michigan Chippewas will face MSU at Spartan Stadium in 2018, while the Western Michigan Broncos will do the same in 2019. The CMU game has an anticipated date of Sept. 29, while the WMU game is set for Sept. 7.
The last game between CMU and MSU at Spartan Stadium, played in 2015, was closer than expected for three-and-a-half quarters, but the second-ranked Spartans outlasted the Chips with some late touchdowns, winning by a final score of 30-10.
MSU visited WMU for the last matchup between the respective teams, with the Spartans taking a 37-24 victory at Waldo Stadium in a dominant win. Despite falling behind 20-7 early, the Broncos showed some spark, as Corey Davis reached 154 receiving yards in the game.
This rounds out the future 2018 schedule for the Chippewas, who host the Kansas Jayhawks and Maine Black Bears in their non-conference season. They will also travel to Kentucky for the season opener.
The Broncos, who recently announced a game with the Michigan Wolverines for 2018, have an FCS game against Monmouth to open the season and then travel to Atlanta to face Georgia State after the Michigan State tilt. They still have one opening left for the 2019 non-conference season.
