Ohio struck first, scoring on a Tyler Finkler SAC fly that drove in Anthony Mrosla in the top of the third. The Eastern Michigan Eagles immediately responded with a three run bottom half of the inning. After another run in the 6th, it was looking like there would be another baseball game this evening.
Then the floodgates opened in the top half of the 8th. Ty Black started off the scoring with a three run shot, instantly tying the game. A throwing error and Devon Garcia double also brought in more runs, bringing the score to 7-4.
With their backs to the wall and down to their last out, the Eagles rallied with a couple of singles, bringing the tying run to the plate. Jake Roehn got Nick Jones swinging to end the game.
Roehn got the save for the Bobcats, and Kenny Ogg got the win. Ohio moves on to the NCAA Tournament.
