It may not be the Ladies’ Night that they run at your local watering hole, but Toledo athletics is giving your ladyfriend the next best thing on July 27. Wine, cheese, football, and a closer connection to the program? If I were a lady, sign me up. I’m not, so alas, gotta pass this one by.
Per the Toledo release:
University of Toledo Head Football Coach Jason Candle and his wife Nicole will host "Football 101 - Ladies' Night Out" on Thursday, July 27 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Glass Bowl.
The event will be a night of football, food and fun, and include the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Larimer Athletic Complex. Attendees will receive an inside scoop on the 2017 season, try on the Rockets' new Nike uniforms, and sit in on a team meeting with the coaches. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet the coaches and their wives, as well. A wine and cheese social will be held during the event, and participants will receive Rocket gear to wear to games.
Tickets for the event are $100. To register, fans can go online to UTRockets.com, call 419-530-4653, or visit the UT Athletic Ticket Office. The deadline to register is July 11. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute at the University of Toledo.
I’ve had the opportunity to send my better half to a couple of these sorts of events at places I’ve worked, and it’s always a well-received time. Nice little bonus is now she understands the game a bit more than she may have before, which makes your fall Saturdays all the more enjoyable.
It also puts a nice human connection on the staff and coaches, which means you are probably going to get some push back when you start to heckle or demand they be fired. So plan ahead on that one.
If any Rocket female fans go to this event, drop us a line. We’d be happy to let you run a piece on your experience.
