NCAA Baseball Tournament Recap: Ohio Bobcats fall to Indiana Hoosiers, 11-2

The Bobcats' run ends in Lexington after two losses in 24 hours.

The skies were clear but the Kentucky sun was already showing it's teeth at the start of the game. Even the Indiana fans were sluggish during opening lineups.

Who could blame them considering the 12 inning marathon the night before? Ohio fans were loudly cheering, possibly motivated by late rally in their opening game. The start of the game mirrored the energy levels as the Bobcats retired the side at the top of the inning and scored 2 runs in their half.

The Hoosiers got a run of their own at the top of the second. After a scoreless third, the floodgates opened, and Indiana jumped to a 4-2 lead on a 3 run 4th. The energy levels had swapped.

Indiana added 1 more in the 5th while the Bobcats offense floundered. The story was the same 6th and 7th, and the Hoosiers held a 7 to 2 lead to start the 8th inning.

Yet another 2 out rally plagued the Bobcats as the Hoosiers piled on 4 more runs, while the Ohio put up their seventh consecutive goose egg.

The season came down to the bottom half of the ninth, our beloved Bobcats were down 11-2. Things looked bleak, I am not going to lie.

One two three and the great season came to an end with an 11-2 loss.
